Aspire will take on the running of The Becklin Centre Cafe from July.
This Learning Disability Week, we’re reiterating our commitment to providing work opportunities for adults with learning disabilities at The Becklin Centre.
From Saturday 1 July, Aspire will take on the running of the café at The Becklin Centre, officially opening their doors to customers at 7.30am on Monday 3 July.
Aspire is a not-for-profit social enterprise in Leeds whose primary purpose is to provide care and support services for adults with learning disabilities.
The new café will employ adults with learning disabilities, supporting them to gain key skills and experience. Everyone employed will receive food hygiene and health and safety training.
Aspire staff already support adults with learning disabilities to run two other cafés in Leeds, the White House Café at Otley Chevin and Middleton Park Café.
Customers will notice some changes at the café at the start of July, and the menu will have a new look, but the range of choice will be the same.
The café will be open from 7.30am until 3pm, Monday to Friday.
Yorkshire Housing’s FoodWorks will continue to provide the service until the end of this month.
