Jane is the Head of Communications at Sheffield Health & Social Care NHS Foundation Trust in which role she strategically steers and is accountable for the communication function, providing professional advice, expertise and leadership on all aspects of communication and employee engagement. She is committed to authentic communication with stakeholders and building a legitimate corporate reputation. She has worked in the NHS for nearly eighteen years and is particularly passionate about finding new ways to engage with NHS staff to ensure their voices are heard and heeded. During her NHS career she has also had operational responsibility for complaints, litigation, Freedom of Information, Subject Access Requests and Access to Medical Records.
Jane is a Member and Accredited Practitioner of the Chartered Institute of Public Relations. She is currently writing a dissertation on the use of social marketing techniques in internal communications for a MSc in Corporate Communications at Leeds Beckett University. She also has an MA in Nineteenth Century Studies and a PhD in English Literature: her PhD thesis explores gender and nationalism in nineteenth-century American women’s writing.
