Clive Stone has lead and supported Oakleaf Enterprise, an independent mental health charity and social enterprise for the past 16 years. He works with adults suffering from mental health problems, covering the whole of Surrey & North Hampshire. He has shared a vision of enabling individuals to access and sustain employment, and has also developed a consortium of providers working across the health and social care field to work more cohesively. Clive has also served as a non-executive Director of Surrey Supported Employment for 8 years, a consortium of some 30 third sector organisations spanning all disabilities.
Clive developed an ex NHS provision into a vibrant and forward thinking social enterprise which treated people as individuals and took a holistic approach to the input, guidance and care provided, as well as the aims of enabling individuals to make informed choices and progress in their chosen direction to employment and/or becoming valued and included members of society, which are paramount in daily practice. In addition to this he also introduced a free professional counselling service through a relationship developed with the University of Surrey, for which he provided clinical supervision. He also introduced a range of academic qualifications, covering various elements of IT training; NVQs in Horticulture and diplomas in Upholstery, alongside full implementation of Recovery Star personal progression and monitoring tool.
Clive is an inspirational leader who has worked tirelessly to develop a real understanding of clients’ Mental Health problems and their needs. He gives his time to many other organisations and businesses in the area to help them better understand Mental Health conditions and to promote good practice.
